Words from the project leader

Welcome to our project “Promoting positive youth development through school-university-elderly learning community”. Through this project we aim at enhancing positive youth development of secondary school students through their active participation in an intergenerational learning community including HKBU staff and students and older adults from community centers.  In this project we offer secondary school students the golden opportunity to undertake leadership roles in planning and implementing a series of activities under the theme of healthy living and well-being with the mentorship of university students and in collaboration with older adults. We believe that such engagement and collaboration will enhance students’ knowledge and practical skills as well as cultivate their sense of belonging to the community.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the participating schools and community centres for their invaluable support to our learning community, to our university students for diligently undertaking the mentoring role, and to secondary school students and teachers and older adults for their enthusiasm and contribution to the success of our activities.

Let’s continue in our collaborative learning process for promotion of youth development and enhancement of our community well-being.
